Rajanti Dey

Chemistry; Chemical Biology Cluster

Rajanti pursued her undergraduate studies at the esteemed Indian Institute of Science in India, where she focused on Chemistry as her major and Biology as her minor. Presently, she is actively engaged in a significant project centered around the ancestral backtracking of Abl-tyrosine kinase enzymes. Her primary objective is to acquire a comprehensive mechanistic understanding of Abl's discernment concerning specific cancer drugs, particularly in relation to their shared ancestors with other kinase families.

Beyond her professional endeavors, Rajanti possesses a deep passion for traveling and indulges in the culinary arts, relishing the experience on most occasions. Interestingly, despite growing up in the tropical heat of India, she has developed an affinity for Michigan's winter climate, as her thermoreceptors have surprisingly adapted to its colder temperatures (excluding the challenges posed by snow/ice storms and power outages lasting for prolonged periods).
