Christopher Bingham
Chemistry; Chemical Biology Cluster
Christopher (Chris) earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Biology from the University of California, Berkeley (Cal). During his time at Cal, he actively participated in various laboratory settings, including the Pavement Research Center and a computational chemistry group. He applied density functional theory to simulate nano-assembly of bis(imino)pyridine ligands, expanding his skill set in computational simulations. After graduation, Chris worked as a clinical laboratory scientist at Sutter Health Memorial Medical Center in Modesto, California, conducting testing on patient samples.
Currently, Chris is deeply involved in a multifaceted research project on the conformational regulation of Src through allostery. He is also optimizing a biochemical global conformation assay, focusing on incorporating full-length Src. These endeavors highlight his dedication to advancing our understanding of complex biochemical processes.
Outside the lab, Chris enjoys traveling, playing the piano, cooking, building computers, and spending time with his two long-haired cats.
