Annika, a native of Ann Arbor, embarked on her academic journey at Indiana University, where she pursued her undergraduate studies and obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry. Currently, she is a diligent and aspiring fourth-year Chemistry PhD student, conducting her research in the Soellner lab.

Her research endeavors focus on the synthesis of a diverse range of kinase inhibitors, with the ultimate aim of enhancing the efficacy of existing cancer therapeutics, thereby advancing the state-of-the-art treatment modalities for this devastating disease.

Beyond her rigorous work in the laboratory, Annika embraces a multifaceted lifestyle. She indulges her passion for figure skating, gracefully gliding across the ice in pursuit of both physical and artistic expression. In her leisure time, she finds solace in the meditative art of crocheting, engaging in mind-stimulating puzzles, and delving into captivating literary works. Additionally, Annika thrives on exploring new horizons, embarking on adventures that allow her to discover the world's wonders. Moreover, she appreciates the delicate artistry and culinary delights of sushi, savoring the intricacies of this traditional Japanese cuisine.

Annika's academic pursuits, along with her diverse range of hobbies and interests, illustrate her well-rounded nature and passion for both intellectual growth and personal fulfillment.
